About Dawn
Dawn Barnes is a Senior Human Resources leader with 25 years of experience helping California businesses grow and scale. Known for her hands-on approach and practical partnership with C-Suite and Senior Leadership, Dawn helps bridge the gap between executive goals, business initiatives, and employee deliverables through people programs, clear expectations, and effective communication.
Dawn has helped build HR departments from the ground up for new acquisitions and growing businesses, as well as restructured HR departments and/or teams. Industry experience includes finance, engineering/manufacturing, healthcare, home care & senior living, retail & eCom, warehouse & distribution, and start-ups.
Dawn’s expertise includes strategic HR planning, organizational change, talent acquisition and development, employee performance and investigations, HR compliance and risk mitigation, employee handbooks and policies aligned to Federal, State, and/or Local labor laws, benefits/compensation set-up and rollout, HRIS clean-up and payroll review (wage orders, OT/breaks compliance, etc.), workers comp and safety, and people programs and procedures that support short- and long-term business goals.
